Son Bou

Situated on Menorca's south-west coast and approximately 30 minutes drive from Mahon airport, Son Bou is a firm favourite with families.

Son Bou has the longest beach in Menorca - nearly 3km of pale golden sand, making it ideal for sun worshippers and watersport enthusiasts. The sandy beach shelves gently into the sea, which is generally safe for swimming. Ocean currents, however, can be strong at times and you should look out for the red and green flags.

The beach has several beach bars and a variety of watersports equipment is available to hire - jet skis, pedaloes, windsurfing boards, snorkelling equipment etc.

There are a range of bars and restaurants and several supermarkets. Son Bou features one of the island's only discos, otherwise nightlife is relatively low key - based around the restaurants, bars and a few hotels, which offer scheduled entertainment.

Behind the beach, on the hill above, the large tourist development has mushroomed and the 'villa-villages' spread westwards into the twin resort of San Jaime.

San Jaime, is a purpose built resort and caters very well for family holidays. All the necessary facilities are on hand. These include tennis courts, a supermarket, shops, restaurant, medical centre and chemists. Plus the popular Club San Jaime - a water play park, with its water chutes, ideal for a break from the pool or the beach.

Beside San Jaime is the resort of Torre Soli Nou. San Jaime and Torre Soli Nou, started off as two small villages, but over the last few years have grown to meet in the middle. Torre Soli Nou is a residential area but all the facilities of San Jaime are only minutes away.

There is a new Reception area located in Zone 5. Our agent has taken over and revitalised the Restaurant Snack Bar Son Bou Gardens in Zone 3, where there is also an internet cafe - tickets can be bought from Zone 3 reception up until 2pm and all day from Zone 5 reception. Half board is also an option at Son Bou. Meals are taken at Zone 5 - La Gondola Restaurant. In addition there La Gondola also has a downstairs Pizzeria restaurant serving a wide choice of pizzas and a variety of other dishes.

In addition all clients will receive a MENORCA SILVER CARD - this card entitles you to a 5% discount in the Zone 3 and Zone 5 restaurants (not including drinks) and also some other entitlement in supermarkets and the bowling alley - make sure you get your discount card when you check in!

Half Board - No-one would argue that times are trying and affording a holiday in these economic circumstances is very hard. The evening meal is not a buffet - choose from a range of English and Menorcan cuisine - starters/mains/desserts. The choice will be changed daily.

All in all, Son Bou and the resorts, offer an excellent beach and pool-based holiday with all the facilities necessary for an enjoyable and relaxing time.
